NetCommunities Survey Tool only allows those that are taking a survey 256 characters into the open ended/essay question box. Is there a way to expand this to allow 1,000+ characters to be added, this way our alumni will be able to give us a broader response instead of short text boxes of which are less than two sentences. This would be greatly appreciated.

I often create new pages and use the same links over and over (donate, volunteer, news, etc.). Every time I add one of these links I have to search for it in the links box. I wish we could add our own "special link" list, like the Home Page, Login, Privacy, Email Prefs list that is there.

Allow organizations to receive Netcommunity emails [updated]

We have emails for several organizations but no contact person. Instead of creating duplicate individual records for each organization, we would like to simply send information to the organization's email address directly.

In the mail merge area of the acknowledgement email, add Receipt amount so donors and event registrants can get the actual tax deductible amount in the email.

We test each and every email message before it goes out to the recipient list. We have a few email blasts that go out to the same group monthly, so I just hit "Copy Message", give it a new title, send out a test, and then send out a final. When I copy the message, the test list(s) do not get copied to the new message. Can this be fixed? It's quick to fix, but annoying.

After about 20 e-mails are sent, the messages window list gets a little cluttered and confusing to navigate. Would be nice if the messages were organized by folders. Messages would default to a folder named after their template and users could create new folders (since basic templates can be used by several users for various different e-mails). Or maybe also have a view where the messages are sorted by who they were created by (I would originally see only the messages I created, but could switch to other views).

I would like to see BBNC allow the instant registration of a constitutent for an event, even if they've never been on the (BBNC) website before. The event registration should be able to ask all the information you need - AND - allow them to register for an event. No more "Join BBNC" then get approved, then fill out a profile, then sign up for an event. It should be similar to buying airline tickets or ticketmaster; if you're a new constituent, you are prompted for all your profile info first, but then can still register for an event.

Managing content across websites and syndicating or federating content is going to be part of a future phase of NetCommunity's multisite capabilities. We will be sure to keep this particular use case in mind as we start that effort.

For constituent lists, any email that bounces should be referred back to the RE constituent record as a solicit code and/or the do not email check box

Since RE is the source for queries that drive email lists in BBNC, it makes no sense that you can't access and query on bounces and invalid addresses in RE in any meaningful way. When setting up an event in BBNC, you can request the registrants provide a phone number but you cannot modify those specific words, "phone number" on the form. We need to be able to change this to Cell Phone or Home Phone. You can do this for gifts through BBNC, but not events. Right now, when people register for events, I cannot tell a home phone from a cell phone from a business phone and that messes up my database.

Currently I build an HTML email and put it into NetComm for a couple of reasons. But, that makes double the work because I have to rebuild it with the quirks of NetComm (and internal links required) to send it out and link to external file for "View this in browser" link that I hard code in. However, if I knew I could build in there and have an auto- generated "View this in broswer" link, that would save me half the time needed to create an email send.

You can submit anything at all in the Forgot Password form, and it will say it has been sent, whether or not it actually found a matching record and did that, which leads to user frustration.

It would be really nice to have a checkbox on the email that would add it to an RSS feed on your site once you send it. We want our twice-monthly emails to be available in RSS as well as email, and right now we'd have to do it twice. And as far as I know, BBNC doesn't even let you create RSS feeds.

By allowing a person to set a blanket test list, or set it in the template level, it will keep people from accidentally using the wrong list as a test list when creating email messages.

When a page is copied there is the option to change the "Page Name", but not the "Display Name". This means that the Page Properties must also be edited immediately upon creation.

When posting images it is best practice to include an "alt" attribute in case the image does not load. I suggest that the caption field in the Image Library be the default value for this attribute
